PE and Sport Premium

Please read the information below which gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.

Our Sports Premium allocation for the current academic year (2019-2020) was £19,512.

Our funding was spent on continuing to employ specialist staff to provide high quality curricular, lunchtime and after school support  as follows:

Curricular coaching:   £11,250
Lunchtime sports:   £11,100
ASC football and training:  £2,715
PE equipment:  £835.88
Total expenditure:    £25,901.38

Covid and contact sports

PE has returned, although there are some caveats "because of the way in which people breathe during exercise".

Essentially schools are given the "flexibility" to decide how they deliver PE and sport while adhering to the necessary safety measures, including pupils remaining in their groups, sports equipment being thoroughly cleaned between each use and, most notably, avoiding contact sports. All lessons are to be conducted outside and extra lessons have been planned to cover the loss of the indoor curriculum.

No list is given on what a "contact sport" is – but  naturally rugby, football, netball, basketball and hockey will all not be possible.

Schools are also able to work with external coaches, clubs and organisations for curricular and extracurricular activities – if deemed safe
