It is the responsibility of the foundation to provide the essential funding requirements for the enriching activities that make Clore Tikva a top choice school for the wider Essex Jewish community.

The core fund raising effort to cover these costs are the essential parental voluntary contributions that guarantee the school can continue deliver, not just the Jewish education that so many of you know and love but the essentials that are required to keep the school running.

Government funding covers most of the teaching and learning in the National Curriculum subjects, together with limited funding (up to 90%) for the building and maintenance, however school budgets are increasingly being squeezed by Government policy. Clore Tikva faces a more acute problem as it already receives less due to its voluntary aided faith status. As such we rely heavily on parents paying their requested voluntary contributions.

There is no government funding for the children’s Jewish education and all the aspects that make Clore Tikva such a wonderful, warm and spiritual school.

The shortfall of 10% that the Trust must raise for the school must pay for all building maintenance; Ivrit and Jewish studies education; our weekly Shabbat experience; and our excellent security team. Increasingly so, we are also increasingly covering costs of curriculum items required to provide outstanding education to the students, but no longer paid for by the Government, such as a full pencil case for each child; coding equipment; text books; state of the art white boards; and playground facilities.

Besides parental voluntary contributions the foundation also has a fund-raising arm called FACT run by an outstanding and dedicated team of volunteer parents who organise fantastic events throughout the year for students and parents to help raise additional funds for the school. Please support them by volunteering your help and participating in these events where you can to continue to make them a success.

The Clore Tikva School Foundation prides itself on helping to prepare children and their families for life long engagement with the community – we are also mindful that the school is home to children of a variety of faiths – something we are proud of – and we pride ourselves on teaching these children to be outstanding members of the community through Jewish values. This too is catered for through the foundation.

The table below gives the recommended amount for the voluntary Parental Contributions and the ways to pay. HMRC also allows you to gift aid your donations so for every £100.00 donated HMRC gives us an extra £25.00. Please click below for a Gift Aid Form.

Providing a Gift

In addition to the above, and in light of the current budgetary constraints affecting all schools in the UK, the Foundation has created a wish list of items for which the Government does not provide enough funding for, but which would directly and greatly benefit the learning and education experience that Clore Tikva would be able to provide to your children. These range from curriculum items such as new reading books and dictionaries for the classrooms to larger items such as new computers, iPads and coding equipment.
