Understanding the World

Throughout the year we will be exploring the similarities and differences between people, cultures and communities. The children will have the opportunity to share the things that are going on in their own lives and to learn to be sensitive to their peers. 

We enjoy helping the children to find out more about their own environment and make comparisons with contrasting environments around the world. They will explore changes that might occur through the seasons and make observations of animals and plants.

Through discussion and stories, the children will explore similarities and differences between things in the past and now and use appropriate vocabulary when talking about their lives and the lives of people around them.
