Curriculum

Following the National Curriculum, this term we are studying the topic of Movers and Shakers and Let’s Explore the World:  For the first half of the term we focused on significant historical figures like Rosa Parks, Neil Armstrong among others. This half term we are focussing on learning the continents and oceans and being able to read a key on a map.

In Music, we learn about exploring pulse and rhythmic patterns, performing rhythms and movements to a steady pulse.

In Computing, we use VEX123 Robot, it is an interactive, programmable robot that brings STEM, Computer Science, and Computational Thinking to life for young students. 

In Art, we identify primary and secondary colours and observe basic colour mixing theory.

In Design and Technology, we are very excited to be learning about different foods from around the world and making some of the delicious treats in class.  

For Chanukah, we will be reviewing the Chanukah story through a book called ‘If the Candles could Talk’.  Children will have the opportunity to retell the Chanukah story in their own words.  Learn the customs and songs of the festival and make doughnut muffins.
